PL/SQL Tuning with Calopus
Calopus is written almost completely using PL/SQL.
With almost 3000 stored procedures and over 200 base tables in the core framework schema, performance tuning, modularisation and database design is fundamental to the performance of our data integration solutions.
The Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming languages are extremely versatile and are therefore subject to individual styles and skill levels. Not all styles and approaches are optimal when looked at from a performance and resource perspective.
Our team has been developing oracle systems for over 15 years, so we know alot about how to make PL/SQL applications run as fast as possible.
Performance increases can often by made with simple indexing and SQL reformatting changes, but there are also coding standards that can be adopted to reduce parsing, cache and library contention. Our PL/SQL health check will assess your code against these standards and identify the changes required to increase performace of the code.

PL/SQL Tuning
Performance tuning, modularisation and database design is fundamental to the performance of our data integration solutions.
Database Design
Our team can provide schema tuning advice, both at the design stage and also post production.
Database Tuning
Setting oracle database initialisation and tuning parameters should be a perpetual process, assessed regularly.
Report Tuning
Recently, we have been working with tuning the standard query statements generated by reporting tools with some quite dramatic results.
